Why the KidzAdherence Support Group?
For children and adolescents living with HIV, staying connected to treatment and care is essential. Without the right understanding and support, they may disengage from care, placing their health — and potentially their lives — at risk.
Without treatment, half of all children born with HIV will die by age two.
Yet fear, stigma, and a lack of child-friendly support mean many children are never told they have HIV — or why they need daily medication. Without understanding their diagnosis, they disengage from care, leading to missed treatment, serious illness, and preventable deaths.

KidzAdherence creates safe, child-friendly support groups where children living with HIV learn together, encourage one another, and build the confidence to stay on treatment.
Through engaging activities and trusted adult guidance — alongside support for caregivers every step of the way — children come to understand their diagnosis, take control of their health, and stay on the life-saving treatment that lets them grow up thriving and healthy.
