A Critical Moment: The Impact of Funding Cuts
Recent USAID funding cuts have left Zoë-Life’s operational budget critically underfunded. While program grants remain in place, some into 2028, the core infrastructure that powers every program — our people, systems, and capacity — is at risk.
Without immediate bridging support, initiatives that reach tens of thousands of children, caregivers, and community health workers will be forced to close.
Among these is the KidzAlive TalkTool app, winner of the 2024 GSMA GLOMO (Global Mobile) AI Award for Best Mobile Innovation for Enhancing the Lives of Children and Young People, and a cornerstone of child-friendly HIV care across South Africa.
Without bridging support, the proven systems behind these programs will stop, and with them, access to life-changing care.
After 21 years of measurable impact and consistent funding, Zoë-Life now faces its toughest moment yet.
Operations are only secured through December 2025, leaving a six-month gap that threatens program continuity and staff retention.
Yet there’s hope:
New partnerships and donor pipelines are already in development.
